Abstract
I'm a Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services working on connecting customers with executives. I over-obsess on small details and often spend hours perfecting a single piece of a website. This manifesto outlines my design philosophy and approach to web development.
Acknowledgments
It would be impossible to list all the people and things who have influenced my work over the years, but I want to take a moment to acknowledge a few key inspirations.

Motivation
The internet as a kid was just a thing. Being born in 1997, I had no idea of what the dot-com crash was until I was older. My first experiences with the web were sites like Myspace, Playlist.com, and Y8. My dad owned a iMac and I used to spend hours on it. Mainly to play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, but also to build dummy sites on iWeb. For the uninitiated, iWeb was a WYSIWYG website builder that came free with iMacs and MacBooks in the mid-2000s. It let me create something that felt like my own little corner of the internet. Of course I never published anything, but I loved the idea of building something that could be shared with others.
